Making Sure Your Pet Passport is Completed Correctly.

Here's what must be checked by pet owners and vets to ensure compliance with the Pet Travel Scheme. If any of these details are incomplete or incorrect, then the animal will be refused travel. A muzzle is also compulsory on all routes.

Since 29 December 2014, the rules for bringing a pet dog, cat or ferret into the UK have changed. The Government have produced some guidance on the new changes alongside it's in-depth information about pet travel in the EU.

Any alterations to pet passports must be signed and stamped by the vet making the correction to be acceptable for travel. If you have an old style pet passport, this will still be accepted but only if it has been issued before 29 December 2014. All pet passports issued after 29 December 2014 must be the new style pet passport.

Please ensure that the tapeworm treatment has been recorded on the correct page, failure to do so will result in refusal at the port.
